It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Catherine (Cathy) George, mother of former Braves Chris (1988-92) and Geoff (1993-1997). Cathy was not only the mother of these two former stars she was the heart of the Braves cheering section. Our condolences to Harry, Chris and Geoff and their extended family on her passing. GEORGE, Catherine Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 67. Beloved wife of Harry. Dear mother of Christopher (Amy) and Geoffrey (Lisa). Catherine is now reunited in heaven with her sweet granddaughter Melissa (2005). Cherished grandmother of Ann Catherine, Lily Baker, Ella, Mia and Quinton. She will also be missed by her in-laws and many nieces and nephews and their families. Catherine loved her family and friends dearly. She was an avid sports fan and supported her sons and grandchildren through their playing years. She enjoyed music and liked to sing along though she only knew the words and not the tune. Catherine’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Another visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Hardy Lee Funeral Home, 44 John St. S., Harriston.
